Here's the perfect example of a solid post that should have been put on it's own: Subject: There are other reasons than money to do magic! Great!!! Love it. But, to follow this post here means that those of us attempting to stay with the original subject now have to go completely off in another direction. Fact: There are as any other reasons to do magic as there are folks to come up with said reasons. Fact: IF....IF ... your goal is to do magic to make a living you HAVE to learn to market, have someone who does your marketing or have a Fairy God Mother that will get you shows. Best,

I've looked into the Fairy Godmother approach - she's too expensive for me. 32 pounds of pixie dust as a consulting fee? I mean c'mon.
I'll put my MBA to good use without her services, thank you very much.

Andrew:
32 pounds? What a rip off! Fairies in San Diego area go for like 23 lbs at the high end. And, this is California where they are unionized! sigh.....

I'm hoping to be back in LA in the next few months for that specific reason.

Do not get taken in, by the way, by the 'fake' Fairies. Check I.D., and look for wings. Best,

Way too many of 'em if you ask me.

You're preaching to the choir. I've come across my fair share just walking from Hollywood and Highland up to the castle

I'm referring to the ladies(?) hanging out at the Chevron station on the corner always asking for my money in exchange for some sort of service. I assume this is a marketing service they are referring to, no?

FAERIE DEW
I asked questions of my parents, 'bout myst'ries large and small, and was told in scarce helpful terms, "Learn then of the Faerie Dew." I teased found friends with puzzles, in mirth and questing jest, and was pushed away in mild fear, "Go searching the Faerie Dew." I tossed conundrums at teachers, of the wisdom they had claimed, and found they rarely 'walked the talk', knowing not the Faerie Dew. Then I embraced each lonely stranger, in simple open hand and heart, and claimed the awesome secret there, that I must 'faire ye do'.
