Psy actually has another song. Here it is:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmHdefsaL6I&feature=colike I was trying to figure out what I liked about it when I realized it reminded me of MTV when it was good. When it first started in the eighties. You know, before it became nothing but Rap, Hip Hop, Real World, and an endless list of really bad teen reality shows. Those were the golden days of MTV. If we were to name the current era of MTV it would have to be the Tin Era I think. |

MTV really shoved rap down the throats of its viewers in the mid-late 80's. They would have a daily top-10, which was dominated by hard rock bands like Def Leppard, Ratt, Scorpions, Motley Cure, Van Halen... One time I remember counting, 8 of the top 10 were in that genre; yet one weekly show in the middle of the night ("Headbanger's Ball") was dedicated to that style of music, and "Yo! MTV Raps!" was a daily feature.

I've actually used Gangnam Style for the third "phase" of one of my Cards Across routines.
One time, when I was young, I botched a sleight so bad, Vernon, Marlo & Miller rolled over in their graves. But I didn't see Elmsley, probably because he was behind the others.

And I recall thinking at the time that it was being promoted beyond its natural market (urban, ethnic, young adults rather than teenies). Those kinds of business choices fascinate me, because I can't figure out for the life of me what the suits were thinking. |

I was thinking Rap didn't start getting shoved until the 90's but I could be off. I remember around 82 how I would watch MTV nearly every day to see the new videos or my favorite videos. I went to a Pat Benatar concert this summer and she said that they had the 2nd video ever played on MTV in 1981! What was amazing is that I thought Pat Benatar didn't look like she had aged a bit since then! |

One can not truly appreciate Gangnam Style until one has heard it in the original Klingon.

Well, Pat is showing a few wrinkles around the eyes. But...you know...I wouldn't say "no" to her.

You think it is a song?
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.
