Do you think popping a balloon is too much noise at table at a restaurant to produce an item such as a card or a bill?
I'm wondering...

I think it would be a big distraction not to mention the flying balloon fragments that could land in the patrons food or drinks.

Yes I think it's too much noise. It could startle too many people.

Obviously I would never consider doing at a table where food had been served but... you're right that fragments could fly to a nearby table as well.
Come to think of it, I don't think I'd consider it at all. I concur.

At the Le Fransae French restaurant, it would be too loud. At Chucky Cheese, nobody would hear it, not even your intended audience.
It probably comes down to a "pick and choose" decision depending on the givens. |

Well, I think that is one aspect.
However, the balloon fragments, as discussed above, are too much of a problem. When a balloon pops, they can go all over and often they are replete with spit from the balloon blower-upper. I think it should be reserved for non-food events. You're right about the noise factor Ron.

Hi Frank:
Yeah, I agree: There are a few family places like Chucky Cheeze's where it would be okay. Anywhere else, though, I think you're asking for big trouble. If I were a patron and I kept hearing a popping sound, I'd be a little ticked...sort of like hearing a crying baby during dinner. Ron |
