This is bizarre.
From the Sydney Morning Herald: A TEENAGER was reunited with her family last night after being trapped with a suspected bomb around her neck for almost 10 hours in her north shore home. Madeleine Pulver told police a stranger in a balaclava had attached the device to her after breaking into the family's multimillion-dollar property at Mosman. The 18-year-old made a phone call to say the intruder had left a ransom note before fleeing the house in Burrawong Avenue about 2.30pm. Just after midnight, police announced that bomb disposal experts had managed to free Ms Pulver from the device. Yikes! John

Yeah that was a bizzarre story. Reminded me of that man who had a bomb strapped to his neck and was forced to rob a bank.

I thought he was at first. But he was going to wear a fake bomb. Then they double crossed him and made him wear a real bomb and ultimately blew a hole through him.

Yes, I meant that he was in on the robbery. As I said, he wasn't a total innocent.

Yeah well, I don't think he ever bargained for that.
"But over time, Buchanan said, Wells went from being a planner to “an unwilling participant.” At some point, instead of merely playing the part of a hostage, Wells was double-crossed and actually became one. The fake bomb turned out to be a real one. And the scavenger hunt went from a clever piece of misdirection to a real-life race against the clock." |
