It's my pleasure to let you in on a little secret that only a few have known about until now.
Tony Cabral is well known throughout the card underground; he's friends with and his work has been influenced by guys like Darwin Ortiz, Jack Carpenter, Michael Vincent, Steve Mayhew, Jason England and Andrew Wimhurst. He's also a reviewer for MUM magazine. Now, he's coming out with a DVD of his original work. The DVD, "Tony Cabral: The Usual Suspect," focuses heavily on gambling and cheating. You can see some of his work at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CBEfIgg8XC8. Fair warning: this stuff is not for beginners. You can't expect to spend five minutes on it, and be a card expert. But Tony clearly demonstrates how to do the work at every step of the way; Darwin Ortiz helps out as well, providing expert insight. And with some work on your part, you'll be able to master the 11 effects. (Side note: I've been doing one of the effects on Tony's DVD for several years. I had the pleasure of sessioning with Allan Ackerman one night in Vegas and showed him the effect. He paused, and asked, "Do you mind if I take notes on this one?" He also asked me to do the effect for others at a TFD convention. Simply put, it's that powerful and memorable.) The DVD is scheduled to ship in early September, but if you're at Magic LIVE in Vegas, you can pre-order it directly from Jeff Eline, who'll be there. Tony is a friend, and his work is superb. I think after you see "Tony Cabral: The Usual Suspect," you'll agree. Besides, the author needs the money.

I had the pleasure of meeting Tony at Magic-Con 2010, and coincidentally we were seated next to each other on our flight from NY to CA. He showed me some great stuff. Tony is not only an extremely talented card handler, he's also a really nice guy and an exceptional artist/illustrator.
This is the first I've heard of this DVD, but you can bet I'll be picking it up. Kevin

Kevin,
Don't do that. You'll only encourage him.

There...that's much better, Kevin.
Also, please note that we have some recommendations from guys who've seen the advance copy of this DVD. We'll be posting them soon, and trust you'll appreciate them.

"There's some fantastic stuff on this DVD. That "Memory Expert" and "Dealer's Choice" are some of the best constructions I've ever seen. This is a great DVD- probably the best gambling stuff (entertaining whether the audience is comprised of card players or not) to come out since Darwin Ortiz's "At the Card Table"."

I'm actually not a big Cabral fan.
Don't get me wrong, it's not that he doesn't have chops... because he does. It's also not because of his material... which is great. Heck, it's not even about him... because he's actually a great guy! No, the reason I'm not a fan... is because he fooled me. And I hate that. Can't wait to see the DVD man. Ben Train p.s. Tony, you can quote me: "I'm actually not a big Cabral fan."
If you're reading this you're my favourite magician.

Ben:
You may not be...but Mike Vincent sure is: Quote:
“This DVD collection is an excellent contribution from Tony Cabral. His handling of the pasteboards along with his great technical ability showcases elegantly crafted card magic which will delight any audience.” - Michael Vincent So there. Again, the DVD will be available through the Magic Warehouse and other outlets in early September. As for you, young Train, you'll see Tony Tuesday night.

Just got this quote in re: Tony's DVD:
Quote:
"Learn these routines and you will cement your reputation as a card expert." Steve Ehlers, The Arizona Card Expert Okay, so I *am* shilling for Tony. But I'm not financially vested in this thing at all. I'm doing it because I've known the guy for years, and truly believe in him and his work. It's been known to the guys whose names you've seen above and others for a while; The neat part is that with this DVD, you'll be able to see (and learn) what the other guys have already learned. This DVD is worth your money and time....pure, plain and simple.
