I am a semi-pro musician, also.
While I agree that some can benefit from a metronome when practicing, eventually, you need to internalize this. YOU are the metronome. One ex-bandmate was amazed that I didn't tap my foot while playing (in this case, electric bass guitar). I said, if I am not feeling the time myself, it won't groove. Now, at instruments I am horrible at, like drums and piano, I need all the help I can get! But, back to magic: have that internal metronome going for you. |
