That link does not work for me. Do you have a link to the specific video, rather than a users account?

Not a new illusion at all, but a very nice (albeit shortend for AGT) routine and presentation. (I loved the music and the use of the baloons as motivation... nice!)

Jim Gerrish used a similar concept on revisiting the Hi-Strung Illusion, which is based on an Okito/Fu-Manchu collaboration written up in The Sphinx in 1941. Jim's version uses a clown in the box and has the additional Bamberg (don't know which one thought of it!) idea of a penetration ONTO a rope that passes through the box to help hold the clown from floating away. It's in his PVC Pipe Illusion e-Book #4 on my site.

I first saw this in Andrew Mayne's book Illusion FX, I believe. Landons' (and most likely Thomas Waynes') additions are what makes this illusion something special.

Is this not just a version of Andre Koles No feet!?
andre invented this illusion originally it was done where he would stand instide the box lift it up so that you can see his feet and still his head and arms as he was holding hte box himself. it would then rotate 360 while his feet stayed facing forward the whole time. then came the no feet where you pick up the box and show no feet. sam

I have known andre a long tim and watching it the first time live 20 years ago was amazing! it was one of those moments where you just sat there and coudl not believe your eyes.
fun illusion! I want one now! LOL let me rephrase that part about knowing andre I do know him and have met him on numerous occaisions. I toured with toby travis for a few years and toby and andre are very close friends. so while touring with toby we got to hang with andre when we were in the same neck of the woods,. fun times no great times! andre is a great guy! sam

I'm a huge fan of Andre as well. He's a very creative thinker and well respected designer as well as performer.
This particular flying box effect seems to have an interesting history. TW suggests that what they did on AGT was an original approach taken from an Ali Bongo method for a Paul Daniels illusion. I've seen Paul's routine and I also don't doubt that Magic Unlimited took the routine from him or someone else without permission as they seem to have a habit of doing. My only reason from bringing Magic Unlimited up at all was that both the flying box routine and the mirror penetration that Landon did on AGT seemed to have more connections to Magic Unlimited in both design, scale and method than to anyone else I had seen. Andrew Mayne DID create a similar effect called Special Delivery which uses the concept of proving a box empty by inference, then producing a girl after setting it down. I just looked at the size and scale of Landon's prop and found a lot more similarities to Magic Unlimited's design than to Andrew Mayne's or Paul Danial's. I'm sure that TW and Landon have a specific source they got the rights from for these illusions from (along with Mark Kalin's version of Alan Wakeling's Aquarian Illusion that belongs to Anthony Reed now) so I'm hoping that's not an issue. I'm just not sure if they got the rights for the flying box idea from Andre (although that connection seems a little far fetched) Ali Bongo, Paul Daniels or someone else. There are several rip off sites selling a version of it, including one using the balloons, but I would hope they didn't get the rights from one of these guys as they weren't their's to sell. For the OP looking for plans, There isn't a lot to go from. Andrew Mayne does have the basic plan in one of his books but it's not that practical based on the illustration he gave. If we found out where Landon got the rights from maybe that will help you to pursue getting the performance rights for yourself. Good luck!

The trick is very good but what about John Mayer's music? I don't know if it's the original or if it was changed by the producers, but I think, although it's in theme(with the title "Gravity")and it's a very good piece of music(I'm a fan of John Mayer)it doesn't fit well with the trick...
