This is one of my favourites I thought I'd share. I've always loved tricks that find mates. This is an anytime anywhere borrowed deck miracle by a card genius named Simon Aronson.
I love Simon Aronsons books because there is much variety. He always includes some killer original impromptu stuff- right up my alley! I love to study his more complex ideas as well. The Trick is called Mark a Place Mates. and its deadly. Thank you Mr. Aronson. Rod |

This is a nice trick and I've gotten nice reactions from spectators. I also like to perform Simon Eyes though its a bit complicated.

I love Mark-A-Place-Mates by Simon Aronson but for me the variation of Bill Simon's 'Business Card Prophecy' move makes the effect much more effective.
I also use Aronson's move to replace the Bill Simon Prophecy move in Darwin Ortiz' "Against All Odds". All the best Mike |

I too prefer the Bill Simon "Business Card Prophecy" move. IMHO, the Bill Simon move is more "innocent" looking and bears up to closer scrutiny...particularly if the "move" needs to be repeated.
That said, Simon Aronson's "Marks-A_Place" move is still a good move. Thakns for the reminder regarding these two moves. I will be sessioning with a few magicians tomorrow and I'll "test drive" them both--and maybe get an opinion from them as to which of the two they prefer. Mike

Turk. the original is great. the aronson variation however, allows you to show the card in the same position in the pack as before the turnover, which is why it fits so well in Against All Odds.
card is placed in pack. ribbon spread pack from left to right. card is seen protruding from say left end of spread. pick up deck and do the move. now spread from right to left. card appears to be in same position. |

Come to think of it, this is true for the original as well, its just a tad more. ........... ostentatious? theyre both great and its nice to have the option.

For another gem in this same vein, see Nick Trost's Spectator Finds the Aces. It is a lovely piece of card magic.
