Hi Guys ,
I am totally new to juggling. I have bought some bean bags , scarves, clubs and fire torches about a year back. These items are white elephant now in my cupboard. Since I am a beginner in juggling, please advise what are the best DVDs or teaching resources to start with? Thanks a lot for your enlightenment in advance.

Find other jugglers!
If you do want a dvd and like a serious training approach you might like Jason Garfield's dvds. |

The Complete Juggler by Dave Finnigan is an excellent book that covers a lot of ground with many different props, and the instruction is very clear with plenty of illustrations.
If you're looking for instruction on contact juggling the best single resource is the Visual Encyclopedia of Contact Juggling DVDs. (I apologize because this is a bit of a self-plug) It's a four DVD set that teaches from beginner to very advanced moves. There's about 150 different moves and patterns taught on the videos, from 1 to 10 balls at a time. You can PM me if you're interested in a copy. You'll also want to get to find any juggling clubs in your area, and get to know some good jugglers. Then expect to do a lot of practicing.

I second the Jason Garfield DVDs. Great training material. I'd also recommend his book to accompany the DVDs.
For a lighter hearted look at juggling get the Encyclopaedia of Ball Juggling by Charlie Dancey and his Compendium of Club Juggling is also worth a look. These aren't DVDs but are awesome books. Both teach a lot of material and are crossed referenced with eachother. I learnt with a combination of these books and my local juggling club... Oh, get down to your local club!

Hi there,
To back up what other people are saying here, the best teaching material you can get for juggling is any of the Charlie Dancey books - have a look at them and buy them all! They're great fun! For DVDs, the Jason Garfield instructional DVDs give you the best bang for buck, offering really high quality and detailed teaching. Buy those, learn everything on them, you'll be a master in no time! That easy (maybe not!)! HAHA Hope this helps! Blessings, Mark http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0wniYjyFkA0

That is a very smart idea my friend, and after you become an accomplished juggler the only way you can pay juggling back is to "share the art" with new jugglers.
