There is also a DVD, I believe, that shows you how to make one for $20. I can't vouch for its quality or effectiveness, but it is there...

Chris Dunn has plans for building a card fountain, complete with resources for getting the parts, on The Magic Nook in his Mechanician section: http://www.magicnook.com/MagicianMechani......OC01.htm The e-Book plans cost $5.00.

I'm also looking for information on card fountains. I need one with a remote. Preferably where the fountain operates only while the button is depressed. Basically as long as I hold onto the button the fountain "spouts"; if I take my finger off the button it stops. Suggestions???

Contendo Brothers made that model as well. The big problem is they only sell at some magic conventions and through dealers. No way to contact them or locate them in the New Jersey area. Then they kind of make what they want when they want. Another problem to the spurt idea, is most fountains only use one deck, it can go through a deck on 1 short push of the button. The do-it-yourself Card Fountain mentioned above works with a button, you can spurt that while holding a box. |

I also have made card fountains that operate off of a 2 channel R/C. One button is a momentary contact and the other is a toggle contact. The advantage is that you can eject a few cards with one button (momentary) or a full ejection with the other button (toggle). Nick |

Chris Dunn's Radio Control device is described in his e-Book on "Animated Anythings" on the same page as above. The same device will work on his other electric devices including the DIY Card Fountain. How well you get it to shoot just a few cards as opposed to the whoe deck depends on how fast your trigger finger operates.

I go back to the threaded Thornton Windlass method. Haven't used it for some time.

I agree the Marcelo Contento's Card Fountain is the best model. The cards shoot out so nicely. It comes with a timer that you can adjust. It would be great to combine this with a Card Sword for maximum effect.

Here's Dave Powell's version. Good reviews and the price is good. http://www.magic.org/store/product_info.php?products_id=2999

Here is the Card Fountain that I build. The fountain shuts down automatically after the last card is ejected. The video clip shows it with only one deck however it will hold over two decks of cards. With a new deck of cards and fresh batteries it shoots over six feet high.

Dave Powell has a $300.00 model that uses one deck and will shoot the cards 9 feet high. It works with a remote on and off switch.
It is great and very reliable. Don |

Second the request, only I will PAY for mine! If you make these up and sell them, you've got a market.

Marcelo Contento has been the standard for a long time. A nice long steady stream. That's the make or break it for me, a lot of fountains can shoot a lot of cards but they seem to all come out in about two seconds and you're done.

I think the best, reliable one may be Nick Wenger's. Contact the "remote guy" on Café. He has great stuff.
