David,
Years back Eugene Burger put out his Real Secrets of Close Up Magic video. In it he uses a coin clip of his own constuction. You may want to check that out if it's available or contact Eugene. Mark

If it is just four coins, you might try a dollar's worth of silly puddy. It will keep them quite too until you're ready to produce them. It is also flesh colored.
My Keller coin tubes came from the folks in Canada. They certainly won't hold 50. They are about 3" long. Have you tried plastic pipe with just a spring or hair pin across the diameter of the down most end. It will drop them all at once. I don't think I could hold more than 25-30 in one hand at a time. The real problem is that they all come fast at once. I think 50 would be about a 5" stack. (It would be longer than a roll of pennies.) Good Luck! Bob Sanders Magic By Sander |

I've used clips of my own construction based upon Buckley's design in Principles and Deceptions. The design can be modified to hold as many coins as you reasonably want (i.e. from 2-12).

David,
I know of no tube coin holder that hold 25 to 50 coins. The most is a doz. or 15. Check Viking for the "Coin Drop Gimmick" and their Keller dropper and their coin dump gimmick. These are the only gimmicks I know that is currenly available. They also have the coin slide that delivers 1 coin at a time. Norm Neilsen magic use to make a 4 coin dropper, but it is no longer available. Magic Inc, had a coin clip for several half dollar size coins. Geoffery Buckingham used small bags held with bulldog clips. I made my own clip for dollar coins. Get the brass at the hardware store or hobby shop and start bending. You did not mention if you wanted to produce the coins or vanish the coins. Mike Ammar has a gimmick to vanish 4 coins. James Rainho use to make coin gimmicks, but he has stopped making so much stuff I don't know if anything is available. Bill |

Hank Lees has the brass four coin clips. They come with instructions for the simplex misers dream that are from the 50s but the clips themselves are modern ones from China. The safety pins seemed like theywere on backwards so I spread the coil of the pin and threaded them on so they work better. The first two I got were pretty nice, but when I ordered four more the brass was cracked where the pin goes through and I had to solder two of them. The tabs are easily bent with needle nose pliers, so you can control the amount of tension on the coins to keep them quiet. The bows can be bent the same way if the coins are a bit smaller than a half dollar. If you are very carefull and rebend the tabs with all new angles, they will hold a Johnson model Okito and lid, but just barely. I have two with half dollars, two with an Okito in one and a bostn in the other. I gave the first two to a freind. The run about $3 for a set of two.

David,
I do remember the Dropper from Abbott's. I bought one and cut it in half to us less coins. Then I attached it to an Oriental Fan to steal a load. If you are crafty kind of person. They sell brass at the hardware store and the spring release. Us a Dowel to make the tube and soldier the parts together. I have not found tubing the size of Halves. Personnally, I thought it was just to heavy to be of any use pinned on clothing. I paid $12.50 for the gimmick at that time. I guess the price has skyrocketed. David, can you use the Viking Dumper? http://www.vikingmagic.com/cgi-bin/dc.pl......options= It looks like it is made better than Abbott's. Bill |

Hey David,
Maybe if you hammer a brass one out flat for a patern you could take it to a sheetmetal shop and have some nice stainless ones made up. They would hold up good. The thing is, do you want to have to pinch them like that during the steal. The magic warehouse has a four coin dumper. A very light smear of wax could keep em quiet till they came into play and it looks like they would drop flat into a finger palm.
