Hello,
After viewing Dave Womach's 2 videos, I have ordered 2 baby keetes. I have 3 questions and I cant seam to find the info on the fourm. 1) During the show and after they are produced, is it better to have them in a cage or a perch? 2) What sort of perch do you use during the show? 3) How long can I keep the critter in a load chamber? 4) What information is out there to train these cuties? Thanks for the help. Mr Phil

If you have them in a nice little cage that would be good, that way they may feel more secure. The perch should probably be one they're used to sitting on as far as size, etc. Depending on the load chamber will really depend on how long to keep them in it...I'd say no more than 10 minutes 15 max for an enclosed area where they may not get enough air and are not able to move around and whatnot. There are tons and tons of books on parakeets and how to train them, even for magic and videos to train parakeets, just work with them a lot and give them plenty of TLC!

Hi Mr. Phil,
As Dan said, it's best to not keep any animal loaded more than 10-15 minutes. I put them in an appearing bird cage during my show, after they appear. Anything that they can feel comfortable in works well. It's probably not best to just leave them out on a perch. From my experience, parakeets tend to get startled, and jump off a perch, if they're just left there. Please feel free to give me an emil if you have any more questions. Hope this helped!
