Corn Cobs were recycled to a bucket in the outhouse in Grampa's younger days. The Sear's Catalog was great before they slicked up the paper. And, of course, a left thumb and sand for the desert nations. Still popular, I hear. That's all I know (or want to know)about it.

Its only the 1% that have them.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

That was the case once, tommy, and you thereby provide another illustration of the fact that the grinding poverty of the past has largely disappeared from the Western industrial democracies. Which must be why the eco-enthusiasts and socialists want to tear it down . . . .

Flush toilets were largely responsible for a number of cholera outbreaks in the 19th century. People didn't realize that backyard (and basement!) cesspools were a bad idea.

John, that reminds me that the public offering of clean water and proper sewage systems is something that historically government projects. In a completely free market, those cesspools might have remained in some people's yards up until--well, today....

I grew up in a suburb of New York City where the water supply was from a privately owned utility. The sewers were owned by the county, I think.

Squatting is the bomb! Nothing like proper alignment to put a pep in your step.
One time, when I was young, I botched a sleight so bad, Vernon, Marlo & Miller rolled over in their graves. But I didn't see Elmsley, probably because he was behind the others.
