I heard about this. The poor guy has had everything from shoes to eggs thrown at him, and now people are attacking him with laser pointers. If you were in a glass box, and people turned on 1000 laser pointers, and aimed them straight at the box... *shudder* I don't envy this man right now at all.

I realize that there are reasons behind some people not supporting him. I agree that him going without food for 44 days isn't the best marketing considering millions are starving. I do not understand why people are showing up and making themselves out to be just as bad as they are claiming Blaine is. I still can't help but wonder if it is the location. For some reason I doubt he would be meeting with this kind of resistance stateside. Perhaps it’s due to a larger fan base.

David Blaine has given up his controversial stunt.
He was told that 44 days doing nothing in a box is not going to break the record which is currently held by Emile Heskey at 4 years. |

Ugh. According to MSNBC, some idiot was using a catapult to launch paint-filled balloons at Blaine's box. Things like that make me lose hope for the human race in general.

Every news room in the country refer's to it as DB's 'trick'. Its weird that he killed his own career. Lee |

He'll be back. I think he's trying to be Houdini and that's a mistake. he broke the successful formula. people like the street magic. He should have kept with that theme.
He could even have done a vareity show ala World's Greatest magic. |

Well, there'd be the small problem of finding a producer for WGM as brilliant as Gary Oulet was...
And if DB wanted to create publicity amongst magic circles, he did his job well. Have you seen how many David Blaine threads are currently active in this forum alone?
