Who has read it?
What do you think?
What routines did you like specifically?

Thanks

I have.
It's excellent.
I like the theory parts the best, though I am very fond of the cups and balls.

Its very well printed and the illustrations amongs the best I've seen.
The theory is hard to find amongst the pep-talks.
As for the cups and balls - its basicaly Vernons routine.
There is good stuff, but spoiled by to many over-the-top reviews.

I really enjoyed the book, especially the thinking behind the routines. I love the Mercurial Cards, but am already changing much of it to fit my performing style.

I'm also partial to Silver and Glass, but have not started working on it, yet...maybe later next month or so.

If you're interested, John will be releasing 3 DVD's in the next week. 2 will cover material from the Book of Secrets. The other will show Ramseys Coins in the Hat and his Cylinder and Coins routines.

I just got a an e-mail from Carney soliciting votes of confidence and promises of payment for the re-issue of "The Book of Secrets". Come on people, it's one of the best magic books ever written. Let's get it back in print. The DVD's coming out soon should be awesome too. John only needs 100 replies to his request and we can have the book in our little Elmsley-counting paws. The routine 'Swingblade'is also quite good.
It's only a paddle move with a knife and some small pieces of paper, but the effect is very nice.

I've made clear in my message above that, although good, the book is overrated and not one of the best books ever written.
Do you have some conection with Mr. Carney ?
Since his first printing sold 1000 copies earlier this year why does he " solicit votes of confideace and promises of payment ( whatever that means ) ?
I know you are probibily mean well, but I'm sure He can handle his own business.

Im sure Aron Devin just wants the book to be reprinted
so he can have it. There are books I would encourage
people to show their enthusiasm for to get them into
print.
