I'm kind of new to magic, but I love it and I saw that a few magic lectures were coming up near where I live. I was wondering what to expect from a magic lecture. Is a magic lecture just about performing in general, or is it more detailed and technical? What exactly are lecture notes? I'm not sure, since I have never been to one. I think David Solomon might be at one later this year where I live.

You can expect anything and everything from a magic lecture...every performer's lecture is unique. I have to admit that I've sat through many lectures that have bored me to tears, but you can always walk away with something. Some magicians focus on teaching effects or a certain move. Many years ago I saw Aaron Fisher lecture with the vast majority of effects based on one or two sleights - and it was fantastic. Others focus on their philosophy of performing and approaching the art, and many combine the approaches. Lecture notes simply give you a written form of what the magician covered...though from my experience the notes usually cover more than what the magician talked about. My favorite part of lectures are those rare moments when the magician floors the audience with a piece of magic and never reveals it...putting us all in the position that we put others in everyday.

If can take home one trick that is useable you have gone to a decent lecture.

The best lecture I ever attended is the one that lecturer offer nothing for sale, and yet his lecture inspired me and changed the way I look into magic, forever.
That name is Juan Tamariz, and you cannot afford to miss his lecture. Attend it while there is a chance. Sincerely,
Most memorable moment - with Maestro Juan Tamariz & Consuelo Lorgia in FISM Busan 2018.
