I'm looking for a routine with a gambling theme using dice in my chop cup. I know that Stephane Bourgoin had one that came with his his cup/dice set, but I already have the cup. Once I Know that I have a routine to work on, I'll pick up the dice.

A whip cup definitely has a gambling theme but I don't know of any commercial gabmling chop cup routines with dice.

Whip cup will not work for stacking unless you do like MIKE ROGERS and put a celluloid lining in it that you can slip in/out.

I can stack with my whip cups no problem but I don't recommend it. Then again, I can stack with a felt lined cup or a suede lined cup which seems impossible but it can be done.
Pete, basically , you're right but I'm not sure this had to do with stacking

I'm not looking for a stacking routine, I'm looking for a routine that fits in with some of the gambling routines that I do: the shells, monte, chain, cards, etc.
I actually have a decent chop cup routine, and although I have several cups, I prefer Frank's die cup. If I substitute dice for the balls, it might work for me as well. At least the props would be in character even though the routine does not have a gambling theme. |

One gambling idea you could do would be a dice switch expose and use colored and chopped dice to "show" how it's done to apparently switch in "crooked dice".
the m****** would be doing the work but you would claim that you're "too fast to catch" then make up some BS method as to how you're "really doing it"

Since Camilo's patter was in spanish, I'll translate some of it.
He states that after his card winnings, two gorilla sized bouncers excused him from the gambling parlour, when he returned later, it was a bar with a dice game going on formica tables(as he turns the pad over on it's reverse). They told him, that he could play so long as he didn't touch the dice. It was the reason that he was "forced" to use the cup. They kept trying to decrease his chances of winning, by forcing him to use more dice, but he kept winning, thus he was forced once again, to remove his bet from the table and depart the premises. |

Thanks for that. I had no idea what he was talking about.

He did the dice stack routine at Dean Dills and fried everyone lifting the cup to reveal a glass of liquor.
Re: the gambling theme... you could get a Juice Joint (huge magnet) and magnetic dice to show how they cheat. If you are incredibly lucky you could find a Gusias dice "butterfly" switch cup.

Pete,
Since you're using the extended spoon so much for "Nutty Surprise", you may think about changing your monicker to, "Stay Spooned" |

In response to the OP, Shaun McCree has a nice dice cup routine with a chop cup feel (but doesn't use the chop if you know what I mean). It finishes with two loads of a large dice and then a billiard ball. It's easy to do and packs a punch. You can find it on his latest DVD set "Stand and Deliver". The routine is called "Chopped and Diced". You can also buy the routine with props directly from Shaun if you contact him through his website.

Chef Anton's routine is amazing (see is new DVD).
It involves dice stacking, but its much more than a dice stacking routine. During the routine the spectator produces a surprise load, and there is an excellent final load which is a great closer. |
