The US just issued a new color bill. Will this make it harder to produce flash bills that look alike?
Thanks. |

The new colored bills are in the $20 denomination only. They will be issued next month. They aren't exactly colored as many other counties currencies are.
They still have the black front, green back as the primary colors, but a tinge of peach has been added. With the slight peach coloring I would imagine that they would be difficult to produce in a flash bill and not be noticable. I have not heard of any plans to add color to the $1, $5, $10, $50 and $100 bill, so there are still plently of choices left.

Fifties are also to be replaced in 2004 with the $100 following suit in 2005. The jury is still out on the denominations smaller than the $20.

Another thing with flash bills, When you crumple them up with the green side out, they can be used as any denomination,or even the new versions.
The real bill is crumpled up in a similar fashion. This makes it super easy to manipulate in a bill switch. French drop, anyone? It also removes the concern over new vs. worn borrowed bills. If you want to be frugal about it, you can get by using half flash bills, with a core of FC, or those little 2x3 pads. I use a small bit of FC jazzed up with sparkle additive in the center for some neat fireworks. It takes the heat off of a bill switch.
