What would be a good source for an advanced beginner to learn a usable Torn and Restored Card trick? I'm looking for a relatively convincing version that wont take me a year to learn.
Thanks, Lloyd |

Relatively convincing that won't take a year to learn? You might try Paul Harris's "Ultimate Rip-off" from volume one of Art of Astonishment.

I have used Yves Dommonigue's version called
Ripped and Restored with very good results. I think this is a good DVD. It is very clear in teaching his routine. PM me if you would like more detail or opinions. :-) |

Torched and Restored. Very easy and very visual.

Iperna, take a look in http://www.magicvideodepot.com/view.php?a=v&t=776
It is called Spanish Restoration. If you like it, i think it is a very convicing version, and it wouldn´t take you one year to learn it. Email me if you liked the effect. All the best magic, Pablo Tejero

I think the best source for a T&T card is Torched And Resoted by Bret Braun. I found that trick very clever and it kills laymen and magicians sometimes. Buy that trick and you will see what I mean.

Yes, go for Torched and Restored, simple and powerful stuff. If you prefer piece-by-piece restorations, then go for Yves Doumergue's Ripped and Restored, as mentioned earlier in this thread.

I've asked this question already in the 'Torn and Restored Card' thread over in card magic (http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewtopic.php?topic=45101&forum=2&8 ), but figure that I'll widen the audience it gets by posting here, because I really would appreciate an answer to this:
I noticed that ETMCM#5 has Torn & Restored Card (J.C. Wagner) listed as one of the tricks, is Ammar's teaching of this any good? the other ETMCM videos that I own have been great, is this Torn and Restored effect up to scratch? Or would it be better learnt from elsewhere? |

I also think that the Ultimate Ripoff is a very nice effect. You can see Paul Harris' performance of it here: http://www.penguinmagic.com/product.php?ID=556
