What software do you guys use to control lighting and sound? I'm looking for free or cheap but I'd consider the top end as well. Just want it to be SOMEWHAT user-friendly and able to do the following:
1) Control DMX lighting 2) Control sound 3) Allows use of a wireless (blutooth or something) keypad or remote to control the show 4) Allows the wireless keypad to have programmable key functionality so that each key can do a different function - For instance, if I push the letter "p" the music will play or pause. If I push the number 1, it will set lighting to scene 1 and start my music. If I push the up arrow, the volume goes up. If I push the letter x, it starts scene 7 and has a fade on the music at the end. Etc. That's what I'm looking for. Suggestions? (PS - it should work on a PC)

Kerry Pollack's system is the best out there right now. It might be more than you want to spend or need. I would look up his units and see what it has to offer.

Yep, seen his stuff. Def. too much for me right now. I think I can find a solution for MUCH less. But I'm sure his stuff works well. I'm an engineer and don't mind doing some extra work to get my show setup the way I want it as long as it will all work in the end. But his stuff looks easy. But then, you def. pay for that "ease."

Take a look at http://www.interfaze.com/. They will offer the software for free, you can (and maybe should if you use it in your shows) do a donation.

I have used the digi-select system from interfaze for five years now. It's a great system for the working pro. I do multiple different shows(kid, adult, hypnosis, magic), and digi allows me to have all these shows in the system and click to the one I want at any time . It is very user friendly. The only down side is no ankle switches as of yet. But, the advantages are you can walk in plug your computer into the sound system and go. If your working solo, the remote in you pocket will work fine, or for hypnotist that are acting on the fly and want instant access to sound effect the hot keys give you access to any of your sound clips at a glance. Even better if you have a helper who knows your show then its just a matter of going into the auto show mode and your helper hit play at the appropriate time for the clip. I hope this was helpful.
