I think this is a very usefull move. I really only use it during A Charming Chinese Challenge, but it has other uses.

I have been working on this...it will be months before I can show anyone. A nice goal to have! If you like practicing, you will like this. Once I have it down, it will be something I carry with me.

It looks really good, and with practice looks great, but it's nothing amazing. however, some of the other stuff included on sankey's very best of DvD's warrants the title of genius

I must say that this trick is one of my favorites. Primarilly because it is a great transition between card tricks since it is ordinary objects (like Jay says). I would have to say that although the move is "nacky" and takes time to learn, if you have performed the striking vanish before, you should have it down within a few days. It took me about 2 or 3 days to get it consistant, but I took an extra week or two before it looked convincing. If you do table hopping or close-up, you shouldnt hesistate to buy this, especially since it is so cheap. For those of you that have this trick, here is an interesting tip I like to do: when someone asks me about the key, I take it off and let people look at it for a few seconds, while it is being passed around, I can have enough misdirection to set up a card trick for the following trick. For example If I need 3 cards reversed on the bottom of the deck, I pass around the key, then pick up the deck and move it to the side, and in the same motion I set up the cards. (THis is also a GREAT time for a deck switch. Example: for the invisible deck).
Hope this helps somebody. |

On Gregory Wilson's tape he has a routine called Florida Keys which uses the same move and IMO is much more visual than leaving home.

HUrOn Low~,
Precisely! That is exactly where I saw that before...I was wracking my brain, trying to think of where I had seen that performed before, when I went to Penguin and watched that video, "Leaving Home"..."Florida Keys" is on Gregory Wilson's "On The Spot" Vol 1 & 2 set... Thanks x 1,000,000! Doug |

Haha, no problem. And I'll tell you this, it beats Leaving Home by a TON. Hands Down. It's simply inbelievable. Also, there's a routine called Recap Revisited on it as well which I use ALL THE TIME. It incorporates the Striking Vanish and it's such a fun routine to do. Gets GREAT reactions and it's visual magic! GET GREGORY WILSON'S "ON THE SPOT"!!!
