The GIG has been creating quite a buzz lately.
"These are not notes at all, rather a battle plan. A plan that offers a tactical and professional approach to getting regular work as a professional conjurer in the food and beverage industry. I was privy to this plan long before Kranzo ever released them and they more than doubled my income. If you are tired of the mirror and want to perform for real people...this could be the best purchase you ever make" - Robert Moreland Click HERE for more info. http://kranzomagic.myshopify.com/products/the-gig-1

I bought these notes about 3 years ago.
Have they been updated since then and if so what is the new information? I remember them containing real world hints and tips on securing and retaining regular paid work.

Zombie Magic, I think the right phrase to use here is "you get what you pay for". I'm sure Kranzilla will agree.

Honestly the thread in mention....I have not read.
But I will say I used the techniques in this booklet to pay for my first home. I also have guys that continue to use it with great results. The info is just as valid today as it was three years ago. Jamie thanks so much for the kind comments. I have not updated the notes although I welcome emails from guys with any questions. I'll be happy to answer their questions before they make the "approach". All the best, Kranzo

I have read Nate's booklet and I can tell you that it's all SOLID information from a true pro. With that said, the thread mentioned (thanks Zombie) is "also" solid advice from a pro worker of more than 20 years in the restaurant industry working anywhere from 5 to 7 nights per week from anywhere from 2 to 5 restaurants at a time. Nate is from around my neck of the woods and can attest to my credentials to performing in the trenches. My formula is just as solid as Nate's (in a different way) and should not be discounted simply b/c I wanted to help my fellow magi by offering it for FREE. Just b/c I don't have a V.I.P. under my avatar, doesn't mean the provided information isn't legitimate. The article was good enough for The Magic Menu after all... One should explore many avenues for success in this very difficult business. Buy Nate's notes, read my article, buy The Restaurant Magic Reader by Jim Sisti, purchase back issues to The Magic Menu, etc. There's plenty of good advice to go around... Christopher

Hi Christopher
I think your content is really good. I didn't mean to offend you. Sorry :-( I meant for the price Nathan is charging he offers a greater volume of information. If we ever meet I'll buy you dinner, as long as you promise not to kick me in the crotch: Again, apologies for any offence I caused. I think you're great. Jamie

I don't know of many restaurants that would even have them anymore. It is solid information but not for landing your first gig. No word on how to develop publicity pack. Getting references from clients to the gig is great but that assumes you already HAVE a gig. I like Nate, but am disappointed in this. |

I don't ever use an ashtray. Simply blow it out, fold the card over itself, or snuff it with a napkin. simple.....
Not needed at all.... I do the same type of effect called Voodoo Bill on my new DVD BOONDOCK MENTAL from Ellusionist. I wrote that up years ago but in looking back I don't ever worry about ashtrays as it is not needed at all. : ) A pitty someone would let a little detail like that deter them. Here are some thoughts from Dan Garrett.... "I downloaded the restaurant gigs book last night and enjoyed it very much. The magic effects you included were especially delicious. I'm collecting all the information I can on the subject, and your booklet was well worth the price." - Dan Garrett

I was not impressed with these notes (sorry, Nate). The actual part of the notes about getting a gig is only about 10 (very spacious) pages, and the information is pretty much anything you could learn by spending a day reading through some magic forums. At $20 they're definitely overpriced. $5 would have been reasonable. There's much better info out there for your money. Putting your cash towards one of the many thorough books on restaurant gigs would be my suggestion. For just $2.46 more you can get the Restaurant Worker's Handbook by Jim Pace & Jerry MacGregor from Penguin which is much, much better. And better yet, for less than half the price of these notes, for only $8.95 on Michael Ammar's website, you can download the Restaurant Magic Business mp3 by Michael Ammar and Charles Greene (45 minutes) which has much better information and is much more thorough.

Anyway, I bought the notes last year and enjoyed them quite a bit. Not really looking for a restaurant gig, but just general help with walkaround. Some of the suggestions for landing that first gig, though, are humorous and obviously grounded in practical experience.

There is a tiny nugget in these notes that I am clinging to, in order to justify the money spent.
To be fair, if this nugget does indeed pan out, it could be worth it. Still a Kranzo fan.
After much soul searching about a signature, I decided not to have one.

I have landed gigs using some of Nate's advice.
For me the ebook has paid for itself by a factor of x 1,000.

I did sell the gig at one time for much higher price as a private consultation. I have two more consultations I'm giving this week but if you are still interested I have a few openings. : )
