This looks interesting. If someone has this, a review would be so helpful.
http://themagicwarehouse.com/TA7221/Ghos......Pad.html The hype: Mind reading looks like real magic, but requires a clever secret for 100% accuracy. In the past, that meant math magic, a Swami gimmick, or electronic device. Now, all you need are Ghost It Notes to predict the outcome of events, demonstrate telepathy, or read your spectator's mind! How do Ghost It Notes work? There is a bit of physics and biology at play with every performance of Ghost It Notes. This incredible pad of paper, combined with a natural characteristic of the human body, delivers a powerful dose of magic. Ghost It Notes are a revolutionary new prop for mentalists, magicians, and anyone looking to impress their friends. Included are TWO PACKS of Ghost It Notes (one white, one canary yellow) and multilingual instructions. Simple. Astonishing. The super-tricky sticky note! |

Looks interesting.

Sorry guys, I was out of town doing some shows. Here's my review:
The Notes: Included are two packs of Ghost It Notes with 50 sheets each(one white, one canary yellow), and multilingual instructions(English on one page, French on one page,...etc). The yellow color ghost-it note does match a normal post-it note that you can get from any stationary store. It is thinner than a normal piece of paper and a little translucent when it is held as a single page, and the texture feels like those thermal receipts. Some of you might dislike it, but I don't think it matters since it will be used to reveal a thought or a prediction. The spectator won't get much chance to handle it, and even if they do, I doubt they'll find out the secret. The white one is opaque and does look like a dollar store post-it notes. The Working: Without giving too much away, the "Ghost-it Notes" basically allows you to do all the swami work without any swami. If you know how to move around your thumb, you will be able to do it. When you "swami" on the pad, it looks like pencil writing. When you "Sawmi" directly on the first page, the writing might go through onto the 2nd or even onto the 3rd page depending on the amount of pressure you apply. So it is better to peel off a page and stick it on the cardboard back(Provided) of Ghost-it Notes to write. Because of "human nature", when you are "Swamiing", the body of the text will vary from thin to thick. I personally don't think this matters either. Example: http://us.123rf.com/400wm/400/400/joanna......aper.jpg The Effects: No effect is provided because this is more of an utility item. Swami effects can be found in various source and if you know what a swami is, you will know what to do with this pad. Cons/Pros: The "Ghost-it Notes" has a decent quality, and the pad will last you about 100 performances (yellow and white, 50 each). I personally prefer a swami than the ghost-it notes pad. The reasons being, with swami gimmick, you can write on any pad. For the refill, it will be $35 for 100 performance whereas when you use a swami, it's like 10 cents for 100 performances. For the ghost-it notes, you need to stick it on the card board which is on the back of the pad to write, where as for a swami you can just write on a single card. Overall: If you have never done any swami effect because the swami gimmick makes you uncomfortable or guilty, the ghost-it notes will be a good start. And I suggest after you have build up confident you should switch to a swami gimmick because of the advantage(see cons and pros). If you have been using swami gimmick like I do, you don't really need to ghost-it notes unless you want something to toy with. Conclusion: Choosing between swami gimmick and ghost-it notes is like choosing doing ambitious card with sleight of hand or Svengali (except for all cards the same kicker ending). It's not about which one is better but what you are comfortable with and what's fits your need. So that's it, if you have more question feel free to ask me or pm me. Marvin |

I wish there was some way very old threads like this could be flagged at the top of the page. Oh well.
If this effect involves a nail of sorts, my experience is that the writing doesn't look nearly as bold, sharp or clean as in the advert. Also, by obviating the use of a Swami, it solves a "problem" that doesn't exist. But my criticisms apply only if this is indeed the product I remember.
