I do not believe this cane is suppose to be made like the traditional Dancing Cane. It is compared to Jeff McBride's Vortex Cane. You might want to pick up a copy of Jeff McBride DVD for this Vortex Cane, called Revolution. I cannot guarantee that this is a copy of his product, but they are promoting it as such.

Is the battery in? It does change the balance.

It comes with line already tied, but it's too short, so the cane falls. It comes with extra line to retie it to the proper length.

These wands are substantially shorter than the traditional dancing cane, also the handling is different as is the center of gravity. Check to make sure the battery is in, as Paul suggested. They are much more horizontal in their "rest" position than a dancing cane.

Hey Guys,
Due to all batteries not being created equal the balance can be thrown off while using a heavy battery. Try the cheapest AAA you can find. In our tests a AAA with a weight of 5-7g is best. Batteries such as the yellow rayovak heavy duty, sunbeam, and energizer lithium batteries all preform great in the lightning wand. The wand in peticular is weighted to be used with both traditional dancing cane moves, as well as long string techniques. I've used a loop up to 5 feet long with great results.

I just took some clear tape and taped slightly above the balance point. I taped the string to the cane and it changed the balance.
Hope this helps |

I too just got the wand and cane in. The cane was broken so I will have to get that replaced but the wand was balanced literally at the point of the center of gravity and that was after the battery was installed. I am new to the dancing cane so I'm taking it to someone who is more familiar with the routine, but it seems to me, based on what others have stated, that the hole should be a tad high of CG to help keep it vertical.
Right now if you just hold the cane it will lay flat. If you try to maneuver it around your body it desperately tries to lay flat The lights do look good to me. No instructions show how to install the battery. This might seem like a simple thing but the ends seem easily breakable so with fear and trembling I pulled on both ends until one popped off. The top of the cane or wand is where the battery is installed and you just pull on the end and it comes off. Cheers |

Couple of rubber bands or o rings put on the bottom will also change your balance point without moving the string attachment.

The reason this wand and cane is not designed like a Dancing Cane or wand is because it is not intended to be a Dancing cane or wand.
Please realize the inventor created this product with his image in mind for his routine and handling. It is to bad no instructions come with the product. As I believe instruction is needed, when a product is created for a totally different purpose than the classic trick it looks similar to, but is not anything like what people are trying to relate it to. It is not possible to do all the standard Dancing Cane moves with this product as it is designed. So why are people buying a product and attempting to use it for moves and maneuvers it was not intended to do in the 1st place. If the inventor intended this to be a Dance Cane or wand effect, then it may be a design flaw as possibility the inventor did not do his research and know the proper way to design his product. Incorrect and poorly designed products are being made and sold every day, it is the buyers responsibility to know exactly what he is purchasing. This product may work as in the demonstration video, but in order to do that, it will take more force to get it to react as in the demo. This is not a Dancing Cane, so if you are looking for a lighted Dancing Cane, then do not purchase this product. I believe there is a lighted Dancing Cane being offered, but it is not this product. This product cannot do the slower moves as in the Classic dancing Cane, it is more along the lines of the Jeff McBride Revolution product. Again, I have no idea if it was designed to be used as the Revolution product either, but from the comments from purchasers, it sounds like it. |

I'll put it like this - the way this cane is balanced now, one can't do the following moves in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVGN4clEVqs

I tried to find Monkey School and did not find any listing. I guess you guys are left to figure out how they are meant to be handled on your own. |
