What brand? What are they made of? Maybe latex paint?

If they are Fakini's, maybe you can wash them with an industrial strength soap. If that isn't an option then I'd just replace them. If they are Empire's they are, sadly, no longer being made with the quality steel gimmick. They have since replaced it with a cheap, ridiculous plastic one that doesn't even match anymore. Very disappointing.

Fakinis should never fade. They might get dirty, and if that is the case, you can just wash them as rmendez said. If they are Fakinis and they fade (unusual because they are colored intrinsically) for some reason, you can have them replaced at no cost to you, other than shipping.

Sounds like they are Ireland as he PM'd me saying metal shell. If so, latex paint may do it, otherwise if serious about performing with them, get Fakini new ones.

I would give a lot to have a set of original Irelands in my collection - those were some magnificent (to me) products back in the day. That aside, I second what Pete said - buy Fakinis. I know Daytona Magic, Stevens Magic Emporium and Denny & Lee carry them for sure. They are the best available balls on the market and well worth the price, which is not really all that bad when you consider everything that went (and continues to go) into them.

I have an original Ireland set, four balls and two ]'s.
They were in sad shape when I bought them at an auction years ago. I got some white rubber-based craft spray-paint and did them up. Fifteen years later, they still look new! I'll be buried with this set! LOL! Doug |

I still have a set of Ireland multiplying golf balls. The shell chipped after years of use so I spray painted it and it looked brand new after that.

They are rare and hard to find because… in the old days, the rubber material available would dry out, crack, and eventually crumble (mostly the Ireland era.) Mine, from when I was a young man, did decay and vanish.
For a long while the hard balls were not made, they only sold their “Chicago Balls” that were soft squishy golf balls, some in rainbow colors. Then they found a way to produce the old style again. Later on in the Magic, Inc. era, industry had developed better materials, and those balls had a longer shelf life. The trick is to keep them out of direct light and extreme temperatures. The )’s were fantastic, solid brass with just the right weight, amount of cling, and thin to be very deceptive. A bit of trivia, the later balls had round dots, but the )’s remained the same with square dots, you could only detect this from very close up. The Ireland balls had a different weight and feel from the Fakini. And their )’s were far thinner and looked good, even from the side views. I wish Magic, Inc. could find a way to put the originals back into production. And by the way, Laurie Ireland’s Golf Ball Routine, with two )’s is a classic, very smooth and elegant. They are the same. You just can't find old Fakinis most of the time. There is no reason to look for old Fakinis. The moulds and the materials are the same.
