If the tube is made like the old Merv Taylor Wonder box, it may have multiple uses as well. Ton is known for quality, but if this is the typical paper or cardboard production dice, I'm not really interested. If you get it let us know. Alan |

Bowers, are there different dice?
"thin crgborad stock" sounds like there are multi levels. What I will tell you mike is that thes will be better than ones made in INdia. I bought a set of "appearing boxes" soeone recommended on the Café. Not knowing Ton first put these out, I had no idea the ones I bought were knock offs. The bag that came with mine did not fit the instructions and the paper was unsticking itself, which was good since the rubber gimmicks were all broken and rotten. Now when I went to Japan last year I found his store Magic Land . Sadly Ton was not there but his wife was. She showed me their boxes and dice. while a paste board. the overall consruction was good. However I did not see any difference accept for in the more expensive and maybe more deceptie boxes, used a higher quality paper. If you know how the boxes can appear, then you know the more deceptive the paper, and how solid it looks, would be the best. My issue with the dice is that the paper is matte and to me appeared to be something that might get damgaged over time. Mama-san showed me how easy theres was to change the gimmick. She also felt their gimmicks would still be strong if kept folded flat for a long time. Now what I like about the look of this production is the tube and that the cube appears on the hand rather than say flower boxes and card castles which are pulled out form the top of a bag. One disappointing thing was that there were no discounts when I was there even after I gifted her one one of my products. I wanted to switch the dice for the boxes and would have paid a little more but she would not do it. I think if Ton was there he might have been open to it but you never know. |

That's about all I know about this powermagic. I contacted seo and they told me they were made of cardboard. I ended up buying the die transpo by tora magic from madhatter magic. the routien looks a lot a like.and I am very happy with my purchase. the dice are made of metal and the tubes are of heavy guage plastic. they work flawlessly.

Well the dice do sound nice. but I do not see t as the same visual effect One is a dice production and the other a transpositon.

Although you can do a production from both tubes
from the tora die transpo you can only do one per tube. but they can also be vanished too.i still like the dice production from onosaka too.i am going to take the plunge and order this one too. I will post a review when I recieve it and had time to use it. todd |

Where to I find out about Merv Taylor Wonder box and its workings? Can I make one.
What I like about this production is how the die appears on the hand rather than pulling thngs from bags. |

Have you seen this one from Tora? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9nUBRj3F5js I don't think the dice are as well made as you describe with the Die Transpo, but if it is made similar to my Tora Super Aquarium Frame, it is very usable (if a bit large for smaller venues). Thanks
Did you go with the silver? Is the tube cardboard coated in tape or a plastic? |

Okay here it is.i went with the silver version.
the tube is made of some kind of board.i would guess masonite because it has pretty good weight to it.the outside of it I think is vinyl stickering.it looks real good.i would assume it is held togeather from a inside vinyl holder that lets it fold flat.i give the looks of the tube a 10 on a 1 to 10 scale. 10 being the best.the inside of the tube is very deceptive on how it conceals the dice. I beleive some one could minutely hold it and not see how it works. I give the inside of it a 10 also.the dice are made of a good paper stock and will spring open very quickly.from a distance of 5 to 6 feet they look fine.and they are complete with 6 closed sides.i give the dice a 7.i believe they could be made better.but they do the job just fine.the workings of how to perform this is staight forward. easy to understand instructions.i practice with it for about a half hour and got the hang of it. it should be performed I would say at about 6 to 8 feet from the spectators for the dice to look solid. overall I give the whole thing a 9.i do love it and I think it will be fun to use. I am happy with my purchase.hope this helps those on the fence about this todd |

Thanks Todd, it does make me want to buy them but still not sure $85 is the right price. I have seen the dice close up so I fully understand what you are saying.
Now I have a question, would the metal Tora dice fit in this? Are the Tora dice more deceptive? |
