todsky Inner circle www.magicstore.ca 2354 Posts	Posted: Jan 25, 2012 08:09 pm 0 I've got a big bunch of silks, thumb-tips, cards, coins, dice, paddles, and all sorts of random small magic objects that are all over the place, and I'm looking for some inspiring ideas of how to organize this mess! How do you organize all your magic paraphernalia, especially the small objects? Ideally I'd like to have it all inside a large cabinet with doors, but I'm open to all suggestions. Zauindro, it would indeed be great if all my props could fit in that one bag. Maybe I should make that my goal! I once bought an old Typographic Printer's Tray from an antique shop: it has dozens and dozens of little compartments for all kinds of doodads, and it can be hung on the wall so everything is eye level and accessible. but then a friend of mine warned me that it was probably full of lead, so I got rid of it. I was using a jewelery armoire a few years back, and then I got married and gave it to my wife to use for her jewelery, and I forgot all about it! You want to be able to locate things without opening a bunch of drawers and at a glance, when the right drawer is located. bigALmagic.com

Problem solved. An alternative would be to seize one of the closets in your house and put it off limits except for magic stuff. You have to have one place to put it all or you simply can't keep track of it. Whether it's an attic, garage, or basement, you need a single place for it all! What if the Hokey Pokey really IS what it's all about? My neighbor rang my doorbell at 2:30 a.m. this morning, can you believe that, 2:30 a.m.!? Lucky for him I was still up playing my drums.

They're going to open the first Target store here in Montreal, Canada in a few months, I think. Until then I'll just have to wait... I do have a separate area for my magic, the issue is more about organizing the little magic knick-knacks. As it turns out, I found some nice quality small clear plastic storage bins that fit into my shelf unit (got them at Canadian Tire, for you fellow Canucks), so that seems to be working. I like having all my 'stuff' visible and easily accessible. And I'm continuing to sell off items that I don't use and probably won't use, which also helps a lot with the clutter.
