Whats the history on the giant jet engine turbine fan? Like whats the official name, who created it, and who made the ones that are out there?

Its the illusion Brett Daniels used to have in his show, and I believe Kevin and Kristen (from Living Illusions) do, where the performer is visibly sucked into the fan.

Pretty sure its and Andre Kole effect.

Tim Kole did on Champions of Magic in Monaco.

My understanding is that it was a joint idea between Andre Kole & John Gaughan and is titled simply The Jet Turbine Engine. Gaughan has built four of them ans will probably not build another. The original owners were Tim Kole, Jan Rouven, Erix Logan & Brett Daniels. Brett still has his and I believe it is being used in the Illusionists shows. Jan Still has his and I believe Erix still has his. We own the one that was Tim's.

But it's still not as good as mine. Bolt cutters + living near the airport = mine's bigger than yours!

There are, I believe, a number of knock-offs out there as well.

In addition, there are several similar illusions. Copperfield did one using a giant fan, Andrew Mayne has plans for one...and many others.
