Hello:
I have an original Koornwinder car, the little red one, the same that Tamariz uses. I haven't used it for some time and went to get it and for some reason the car doesn't work anymore. It just doesn't stop. Does anyone know how to fix the car?? Thanks Alex

Knowing how Dick made those, it would be all but impossible to get inside3 and repair the "special something> that is responsible for the stopping. You are best to look for one on eBay (they do show up for sale from time to time.) You might also ask if anyone has one for sale on the sales forum here on the Café.

Tenyo sells the car as well under the same name. Not sure how it compares to the original.

Hi!
I have one of the numbered cars handmade by Dick, it has it’s velvet storage bag and instruction booklet, plus a presentation by Robert Neale. I was going to put it up in the for sale section, but I’ll see if anyone wants it here. Magically, Walt |

The clear on is a ripoff. Tenyo paid Koornwinder a lot of money for the rights and it is well made.

I'm late to this thread. I have to agree with Pete. Stay away from the knockoffs. I made the mistake years ago and bought the one that Tannen's had put out. It was a piece of garbage right out of the package. It didn't even work correctly once.
As for the Tenyo model. I have handled one. It is very good also. Plus it is authorized by Dick Koornwinder. Granted it is plastic but it works as it should. I will probably get one of those as well sometime. If you can't get an Original Wooden Koornwinder Kar but want the effect. Buy the Tenyo one. You won't be sorry. But by all means stay away from the knockoffs. I've heard that the Morales Car works on a different method so it's really not a knockoff really but I think those are hard to find now too. |

The Tannens wooden one was garbage. I bought it not knowing at the time it was a knockoff.
