Hello, ive sent a couple of pm,s...so apologies if you read this as well, but my glorpy doesn't rise ,im just wondering do you bend the wire to achieve lift or take it out and put a small lock pick lever in to get greater lift ..thanks tony

Find the fulcrum point of that special something while the hank is not folded and master the lift move. Then work on the fold to position the something in place. I hope that this makes sense.
I have one that the something is L shaped and another that is L shaped with a bump. Good luck, Bruce |

Yes. You need the L to have a bump for the lift to work.

It should be in the correct shape when you purchased it. It requires no bending.

I've owned several original Glorpy's through the years, as well as a couple of knock offs. All of them were in the appropriate shape at purchase except the one I just recieved today. This one, an original (Fun Inc) is completely flat and not the correct shape. So if the original poster just got it, there's a chance his is the same as mine, and needs to be bent.

Give the bend a bit of curve.

The L shape must have a bend in it or there is no way to make it work, if you still have problems PM me and I will try to draw what it shoould look llike.

I believe if memory serves me right in a magic book that Richard Kaufman wrote for the general public, he shows how to make a Glorpy and the gimmick is straight.
Maybe if there is still a book store in your area, you could check it out. Good luck, Bruce |

Just received a Glorpy (Royal Magic) from Elmwood Magic with a flat gimmick. Emailed them to ask about it and they said, "They are shipped with no bend, which allows the user to adjust it in the way that suits them best." That's thoughtful of them, though it would be even better customer service to inform the customer of the need to modify the gimmick and provide instructions on how to do it.

Lets all make things that don't work and just tell everyone they can make up their own ideas to best suit them, less tan useless to a beginner.

Have never dealt with Elmwood, and it’s been years since I purchased my Glorpy (WITH bend), but this just seems especially asinine. Any performer who knows (or cares) is going to “adjust it in the way that suits them”, regardless of whether it’s already bent. But what’s a beginner going to do? This sounds like pure laziness on the part of the manufacturer.
Would hate to buy an Invisible Deck from them!
