Hello, I was just wondering if the tricks that Juan Tamariz's has published using a memorized deck can be used with any memorized deck. I've memorized Simon Aronson's and in “Try the Impossible”, he explains tricks that need the Aronson stack. Yet in “Simply Simon” and “Bound to Please” he has tricks that can use any stack. Do Juan's tricks need the Tamariz stack? Although some of the tricks in “Try the Impossible” were alright. I like tricks that are more like the one's in “Simply Simon”, which have a more hands off look to them.

You should be able to interchange with a memorized deck. Basically you have assigned a card and a number to a specific position. The tangible is the position of this card and number. The mathematics don't change just because the card does.
Then only thing that will matter are "Stack Dependant" routines. In Simon's arrangement, he has several gambling theme effects built into it. You may choose to memorize any order and alter the style or type of effects with the "Dependant Stack's" you build into it. Hope this helps! |

So are any of Juan's tricks Stack Dependant?

I think, the majority of Tamariz' work with the memorized deck is stack independent.

I think as of now, his memorized deck work can only be found in Spanish.

The majority of Juan's work is stack independent, as are most memorized deck tricks.
If a trick simply requires you to know and/or modify position and card info, there's a good likelihood any memorized stack will work. The loss of stack independence comes when a trick requires one or more particular cards to be at particular locations, or to have particular features built-in. |
