I created a Facebook "page" sometime back. Then I find out it's the wrong kind of page! It's a personal site rather than a business site. But I can't fnd where to delete this so I can start over.
Any help out there? Ed |

Okay - never mind. I fumbled around enough and found it. Dunno if I could ever do it again, but I did it this time!

What is the title of your facebook fan page?

I'm still not sure I've got this right!
My new page is at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Family-Fun......82223001 My original Facebook is http://www.facebook.com/people/Ed-Millis/100001903111961 But I thought I deleted that?!? (Maybe you can _never_ get away from FB!) |

You can only change your user name one time.
But deleting a page shouldn't be a problem: You can delete the page down at the bottom of 'manage permissions' Tom

I am no expert on facebook, but I will tell you what I do with my facebook listings. I have a Al Angello page that is all chatting with my family, friends, magician, and juggler friends from all over the world. I have a facebook FAN page that has pictures of me entertaining folks at recent gigs. I also post my upcoming public events there where people can go to for free to see me work. The third and most important thing about my FAN page is it's title. My title is "Al Angello comic juggler magician Collegeville Philadelphia" this gives me a free ride on facebook for google searches. I have also experienced people that look for entertainment by doing facebook searches. My FAN page is both a billboard for my services, and a way to attract the growing number of people that use their facebook search function. IMHO your facebook FAN page would give you the best service if it read "Ed Mills magician Yuma, AZ". This way it answers the three most important questions of WHO, WHAT, AND WHERE to your potential customers. Before people start jumping all over me to tell me that I am wasting my time in the couple months that my FAN page has been up I have booked several jobs, and had other shoppers inquire about my services because they found out about me from my Facebook FAN page. The best part about this advertisement is it's all FREE.

Hey Al,
If it is working why break it? George |

In the past I have been hard on Ed because of his concentration on method rather than results, so this is my way of showing Ed that my heart is in the right place. If he uses my advise on titling his fan page it will show in a google search in a couple of days. How good is that instant gratification?

I was agreeing with you on it working for you. That is what I meant by my comment.

I appreciate your comments on this, Al. I didn't think of the title business.
I'm not really concerned about FB for chatting with everyone. I would would use it only as a business tool. (So now I'm wondering if I can just delete everything and start all over!) Ed |

Ed,
Like I said above, you can only change your user name one time. (That's what the rules say) But you can delete as many 'pages' as you like. What you have already created may show up in Google for a few days, but it will be gone soon, and the new will be all that's left. But that's just my guess. Tom

I may be way off but I think the fan pages is an extra reserved for members, and I don't think it is possible to be a member without having a personal page first. There is no requirement for you to post, read, or participate either.

You do need a personal page in order to have other pages.
