So I was just mixing my post workout whey protein in my shaker cup and thought of something. You see the cup came with this ball shaped springy wire. Seen here. So I was wondering if you put some cloth around something like that you could have a ball for a load collapsed to the thickness of a Silver dollar perhaps (I'm Canadian so I am guessing there). Does this idea already exist? This was the best forum I thought to put this in.

Something like this is shown, albeit in a larger size, in Dunninger's Complete Encyclopedia of Magic. If I remember correctly it was for a cannon ball production. So yes, it has been thought of before.

I believe the Magic Castle have a couple of examples of what you describe from the early 20th century . They're in a display case. I think My friend Jay also has one.
God's grace rocks! It makes a good cups and balls routine look pretty boring in comparison.
