Hi all, Im looking for the best blister effect. I ordered 'Branded' and this was perfect apart from the fact that the gimmick was broken when it arrived, I sent it back and received a replacement and this was broken too in the same area. Eventually I got a refund and was told it could be a bad batch. I then purchased 'Pyro perception' which will last a lifetime, but I feel it does not have the freedom of Branded, also the blisters are not as realistic IMHO.
So the search is still on, I was considering 'Sharp Impression', I like the way it's hidden in plain sight like branded, but was wondering how many choices one gets as well as the quality of the blister. Also please feel free to suggest any other alternatives, all suggestions are apreciated. |

I have been using branded having amazing results with it. Very sad that you dealt with those problems.
Very difficulty you will find better blister effects than that and the multiple outs branded offers is a crucial point. |

Branded is the way to go! Hang in there until you get an unbroken gimmick. I got mine at a local store on a whim in a close-out section and have been having a great time with it. I have done other blister type effects with a much more primitive set-up,but prefer this one for the various options it provides.

If the gimmick wasn't broken twice, I would have settled on branded. It has many outs as well as the functionality of being able to do the dirty work in plain sight. I understand I may have got a bad one (twice), but that's the only thing putting me off. Just don't know whether to order a third, maybe from a different dealer, and hope for the best?

Yes, try a different dealer, if you leave in uk I would suggest you world-of-magic. They have free shipping over 30gbp so by ordering one more item (even one of the cheapest) you will not care for shipping costs

You should go to the originator, Jack Kent Tillar's book, "The Blister Book". It has contributions from many of the greatest minds in magic and mentalism. It is probably THE definitive work on the subject.

I have Psionic, purely because it's not a "card trick" ... as said above it uses ESP Symbols.
I know far too many card tricks as it is |

Psionic is great. I really like it. Also check out Palter's other one, 3rd degree burn. The gimmick is a little bulky, but it's any named card blistered!

I find that psionic is more flexible because your hand does not need to be in your pocket like the other gimmicks. It is small enough for you to be creative in where you hang it on your outfit.
However, the impressions are not as strong because it is made of plastic. Just need to press harder.

Jerome Finley has the best blister routine IMHO.
His handeling of this effect will truly have people telling others about what they had wittness! He doesn't play it as a magic trick as everyone is talking about on this thread. He turns it into a miracle! Best Ray |

I have a version of blistered I use all the time. It was made by Precision Magic. It has a choice of 4 cards and is very well made. You see them up on ebay every now and then. Precision magic is now out of buisness so you will have to find a use one or old stock. Also, some venders still have some. Hope this helps!

Have to look out for The Blister book, I don't think I have volume 7 of Tarbell's in storage!
