I wasn't sure if this was the right place for this question. And I apologise if it's not the right place.
Anyway here goes. I'm looking for info on the best way to pitch with a bouncey castle. I know you can hire them out to birthdays and events, but on days where it's not being used are there places I could go and just blow it up? I'm thinking carboot sales or markets? What is the best way of doing it? £1 for 5 minutes type of thing? Any help much appreciated.

A friend of mine was in this business as a sideline to his "show" business.
He has just gotten out of it for a number of reasons. The hire market has been saturated over the last few years due to cheaper inflatables from China. A lot of kids entertainers have them as an add on to their party show. He had regular spots on large city markets for when the hire business was quiet. To keep interest he rotated the rides at these markets. He still couldn't justify keeping the rides with such low returns. Bear in mind that for a 6am market you have to be there at least 2 hours prior to set up and produce your insurance. If the ground is a hard stand you need weighted tie off's/down's as you may not be permitted to drive pegs. Transporting this extra weight needs consideration. The insurance may require the bubble to be secure at all times. The insurance may also require fencing, another transport-weight consideration. The best way to control the ride is to carry a stopwatch and a whistle. 3 dollars for 4 minutes or the like is the usual. The first kids on in any session will always get a longer ride as you don't start the clock until you have enough riders or takings (!) for that session. The first kids on should act as an attractant as there is nothing worse than a static bubble. Hope that helps some. |

I investigated adding a bouncy house as an add-on, but rejected it because of the insurance issues and time commitment

All the above plus you have to be able to lift the 400 lbs monster. I know you'll use a hand truck but those things are very heavy.
