The money is lousy, but if you are in the area, and willing to do it, contact her directly. Her name is Andrea and her email is andrea.manners@gmail.com.
My name is Andrea and I am touring with the movie "The Devil's Carnival" ( by Darren Lynn Bousman, the director of SAW II, III, IV and Repo! The genetic opera). We pack 300-700 seat theaters with 15-25 press people per show that come out to watch the show, meet the director and filmmakers . The only catch (and it's a big one) is that we have a very small budget: $50 for 5 minutes. We are looking for 5 minute opening acts for our screenings in the cities listed below Would you or anyone you know be interested? If so, please email as soon as possible. Kind regards, Andrea http://www.thedevilscarnival.com Video Clip 4/24 – Pittsburgh, PA @ The Hollywood Theater 4/25 – Baltimore, MD @ The Charles Theatre 4/26 – New York, NY @ Times Scare NYC 4/27 – Philadelphia, PA @ The Painted Bride 4/28 – South Hadley, MA @ The Tower Theater 4/29 – Boston, MA @ The Foxboro Theater 5/1 – Toronto, ON, Canada @ Toronto Underground Theater 5/2 – Toledo, OH @ Collingwood Arts Center 5/3 – Chicago, IL @ The Music Box Theater 5/4 – Des Moines, IA @ The Fluer Cinema Café 5/5 – Kansas City, KS @ Leawood Cinema Theater 5/6 – Denver, CO @ The Oriental Theater 5/7 – Salt Lake City, UT @ The Tower Theater 5/9 – Seattle, WA @ The Admiral Theater 5/10 – Portland, OR @ The Clinton St. Theater 5/11 – Sacramento, CA @ The Colonial Theater ____________________________________________ You may view an extended version of the film on my blog, if interested.~Dev/ |

Yo Devious,
I tried sending her an email and I got a delivery failure message. Could you please double check to make sure that is her correct email? Thanks, Bobert |

Thanks for helping each other in here folks.
They were here in San Diego earlier this month. Yes you may hat after your set. Great film! Strangely eclectic and receptive audiences! |

Got the gig. We'll be opening the 4/28 – South Hadley, MA @ The Tower Theater showing.
Two showings: 9:30 and midnite. We open both shows. Was told we can bring extra material and work the lines. Okay to hat the crowd.

That's great Dan.
You can work the lines before the show and also you are free to stay and enjoy the film along with everything else. They will treat you right, with the exception of the pay of course. |

My wife and I love horror movies so it's going to be a good time for us. We're known as Psychic Sideshow so we fit right in with the theme of the movie as well. Not only that, but they are going to have press, the director and filmmaker there. Talk about stacking a deck. You never know who you'll meet or what doors may open for you.

I thought it sounded like something unique to try so I sent an email.
I got a response back that they had the entertainers they needed but I was welcome to show up and work for free. How nice!

We did the gig and it was AMAZING!!! Darren Bousman and the rest of the crew had a goal to make going to the movies fun again and they succeeded. This was more of an event than just going to the movies.
First, they had a meet and greet with people that paid extra for the meet and greet. Then they let the rest of the audience in. It was like Rocky Horror meets the suits. They had fans dressed up like characters from "Repo the Genetic Opera," regular people and the suits (press and investors). Stephanie, who is the emcee from heaven took the stage and introduced us. We were told to only do 5 min but we could stretch to 6 if we needed to. Just try to keep it under 6 min. We did an abbreviated version of our whip routine and then went into the human straw. We killed. Everyone loved the show. We got off stage and then they played about a 15-20 min short about Repo with outtakes and behind the scenes footage. Really good short. Then they had a costume contest. After that, the director and two other people from the film got up, thanked everyone for coming then gave them a "don't be a d*uch3 speech about not filming the movie. Then the movie played. They did a signing of merchandise afterwards. And we did it all over again at midnite. If you are in the area, and want to do this, contact Andrea at the number below and she'll give you the details. Hey, it's a 10 minute $50 hat if you think of it one way. It's an experience of a lifetime if you think of it another.
