If you haven't read the book called "the Conscious universe" written by Dean Radin (Harper edge/ Harper Collins Publishers inc, 1997), you should read it.
This is not a magic book but a book that talks about all the experiences that the sciences did to show that psychic phenomenons exist. This is a very interesting book for us, mentalist, because it helps you to know what our brain can really do. It also helps to give answers to the skeptics. It can also give ideas for presentation of some effects. Well I think it is a great book. If you have read it tell me what you think, please. |

I agree that it is a great book. It's arguments are not only coherently presented, but its conclusions are, to me, very convincing.
You should be aware, however, that Dean Radin is not held in high regard by the skeptics at CSICOPS who maintain that Radin's use of so-called mega-analysis is seriously flawed from both a statistical and experimental viewpoint. (You can read their views in the pages of "Skeptic" magazine, on their homepage and on Randi's.) If you want to take on the skeptics, be prepared to counter the arguments they will likely raise about Radin's techniques. That being said, I highly recommend the book. True skeptics should find it intriguing. (Most CSICOPs don't appear to be skeptics in the classical sense of the word- they seem to have made an a priori decision that psi does not exist, and that any proof indicating otherwise must therefore be flawed in some manner.) I'm currently reading it (almost near the end).
I agree that the "mega-analysis" technique seems a little bit like statistical trickery, but the rest of the book is quite fascinating. And now I know when is the best time to visit the local casinos!

After reading the chapters in this book that dealt with the PK experiments involving computerized generation of random numbers, I immediately thought of the idea of putting an electronic random number generator into my show that would sit on the edge of the stage and using a light-based 'scale' indicate when numbers began exceeding expected probabilities.
Of course, the scale would register the highest during those moments just before the climax of a routine was reached.

Philemon-
Forget what it says in the book. The best time to go to the casino is when we're both there. I'll be at the Emerald Queen Saturday at the Texas hold'em table. Grab a seat across from me and don't forget the signals. Bob (I sent this as a private message because I don't thinks these guys need to know what we really do for a living!) |

Please do not read the previous message. It was put there by the Csicops to discredit me.

Bob and John,
Unquestionably. They are in reality psuedo skeptics. Best regards, Tony Razzano
