I have a B.S. in Business Administration. Overall, I'd say it was a waste of cash, although a couple of my classes were quite useful. I learned so much more from studying after I left college.

So if I understand you correctly Alan, you continued your studies by accruing more BS?

Howie, what the waitress was doing may not suit you or I, however if she was happy doing it, why not? You may have misunderstood my post; I was not at all ridiculing the waitress, I was making a comparison between my life and hers. She was an excellent waitress, filling my coffee and truly enjoyed chatting with me and very much enjoyed and very proud of what she was doing. I on the other hand except for my past career as a photographer reinvent myself and move on every few years |

I have two BAs, an MA and a PhD in Psych and Anthropology. They helped me get licensed and make a living until I retired. All of the degrees required hard work, time and a lot of money.
My performance days on the road was before I acquired the degrees, so they were no help. On the other hand, anyone who has any kind of degree in anything, knows how hard it is to get that degree. Knowing you have those abilities is an asset if you want to be a successful entertainer. One of my favorite quotes is: The difference between success and failure is that a successful person will do things a failure will not do. To the OP: I would think a business degree would be a huge asset in the magic business. And I think you already know that, and your fishing for confirmation. We all do that when we take an unknown path. It is nice to know there are others who are doing the same. All of my children have degrees in education and business, teachers and CPAs. Now we are working on the grandchildren. Thank you.
Et tu, Spartacus?
