May I suggest you read above. These jokes are not "stolen" and if I thought a joke was someones I would remove it. I submit that based on your premise "Now that's Funnt!" in this Café should be removed as jokes are listed there for all to see. The jokes I list are of that nature, ones that I would call "public domain" because they are so old but yet still retain their humor.

I may have used a poor choice of words when I said "culled". These are jokes I have heard from friends and acquaintances over the years, approaching 600 now with more to come.

Robin Williams is a joke thief, seemed to steal from everyone until David Brenner threatened to clean his clock for stealing his material.
I relied on the old Orben books, had material written for me by Phil D'Rey and bought a lot of material that was advertised in Variety and Billboard from new writer and people out of work.. This was in the 60s when I worked strip clubs along the Gulf coast. A lot of the material was adult and I quickly learned how to rewrite the Orben material out of necessity. Some of the clubs required 30 to 40 minutes between dancers, that meant telling a lot of stories and doing a cupola tricks between each dancer. If they were in the audience getting guys to buy them drinks, the club was making more money that way then by them dancing. This was against AGVA rules, but gals gotta do what they gotta do if they want work. Doing other peoples material can get you in trouble. Better to learn to write your own stuff. PS: Tommy Cooper has his name on a lot of books you can get from Amazon for less than a dollar. If your gonna steal from someone, get the best. (He did do a lot of Orben material)
Et tu, Spartacus?
