Great, thanks Richard! I thought it worked that way but wasn't sure - the frame is indeed wider then the bills but not that much! Absolutely fantastic engineering by Tenyo! Now if the Tenyo Elite guys would have made an effect like THIS in stead of Fortune Sticks or Moonspiner they wouldn't have the poblem of not being able to sell the items they produced ... . But that's another discussion. Good for you you didn't sell your Mirages (and Ultratube I think?) - you're a wealthy man
By the way I wasn't kidding about me having a Mirage I'm willing to let go. If someone has a Sidetrack for trade let me know and we can have a deal perhaps. |

Thank you Richard,
very cool Gimmick, I play with again today and the illusion is really perfect. Only the blade is pressed on one side, it emerges from the other side in a truly natural way and EFFORTLESS. It's crazy and very impressive. |

It would be very expensive and complex to make something like Mirage out of wood and metal. As I noted, the weak point is the black plastic cards. The only thing I can imagine substituting for those would be a card made of teflon. It would never break, but would curl as required. The exterior box could be made of wood. In fact, if you want to "pimp" your Mirage, it should be relatively easy to break one open and transfer the guts to a nicely wooden-rebuild of the exterior box.

A thin piece of steel can be flexible enough. I have a two-roller money printer that uses steel instead of a strip of cloth. It has clicking ratchet type of mechanism to keep it from springing out between the rollers. It's stiff to operate, but printing a bill between two metal rollers is very cool.

Does anyone have a broken Mirage they would consider selling to me? I have a woodshop in the basement and would entertain the idea of making a wooden outer box for this trick.
