This DVD looks very good, actually it looks awesome. It about ten bucks more than Daryls DVD, which I planned on getting but by the reviews on the site everyone says this one by far surpasses Daryls.
Right now my AC routine consists of having the card selected, reinserted in the deck cacthing a pinky break a few false cuts, the pendulum cut (from Troy Housiers DVD, I use this a lot) retaining the card at the top, and a false shuffle...Revelation #1. I then do a overhand shuffle, injog, cut ..revelation number 2. I then false shuffle getting the card second from the top, DL to show its on top, push the top card forward, use only half the deck, put it in the middle of the lower portion and it appears on the top of the top portion..Revelation numer 3. I then tell them it doesn't always work and I bring the card to the bottom and show them, perform the side glide, hand them the "bottom card", shuffle the deck and show it at the top..last revelation. I get reactions from "you handle those cards well" , you cheated, you cheated!" and pure shock, but it looks as though this DVD could advance my routine a lot. What do you guys think? |

Daryl's is a better product in my opinion. I really like his teaching style.

I'd recommend Daryl's over Brad's.

Daryl's is so detailed. I prefer Daryl's
and I would rather throw money to Daryl first if I couldn't decide on which one is better. Because everything he puts out is awesome. He's so involved with everything he does, he puts his heart into everything just like Jeff McBride. |

I think Brad's is more for street magic and Dayrls is more for a tble setting. I like Brad's teaching and performance style better. Brad's gets my vote but pick them both up!

Daryl's is good for a polite, hand picked audience. Brad's is for the streets/restaurant-tough crowds.

Daryl shows you a whole lot more from what I can tell (own Daryl's and looked at listing for ellusionist). Yes Daryl is not a "street" guy, he is not mysterious or trendy but he knows cards like the best of them do.
Brad has good ideas and knows how to explain them to young people but using flashy women and "street" knowledge just doesn't do it for me. It is not the job of an ambitious card video to teach you how to react when you screw up. That is the job of an intro to magic book or video. The ambitious card should not be the first thing you learn to do and so an ambitious card video should not be designed for the absolute beginner who knows nothing of magic theory and such things. Yes it should teach you all the sleights but it need not teach the basics like how to deal with a mistake or audience issues. |

The bulk of your routine is shuffles and cuts to control the card. It shouldn't look like that. You should show the card, insert it in the middle, then it's on top. No shuffling or cutting. Daryl's video covers a lot more moves for you to pick and choose for your own routine. I have both and I like his better.

Thanks for all your advice, looks like I will end up getting them both, cant go wrong there I guess. I agree with you r4bid the flashy women really doesn't sell the product for me either, but it looks like it is put together well, and I'm not a beginner, but I would like to see how Brad handles the spectators. Thanks for your comment on my routine ixnay66 I will keep that in mind and any other comments recommendations would be welcomed also..

Pass on the Ambitous Card DVD by Ellusionists and get the Daryl version. Trust me, you will get way more out of Daryl's version.

I agree with Ixnay, the important thing is that you don't shuffle the cards around. Daryl's DVD provides more subtleties to avoid mixing the cards.

I have the dvd. it has some good info. daryl is better overall - but - brad teaches some nice subtleties. he is a good teacher but a horrible performer. I was cringing at the live performances. I almost felt bad for the spectators. he has almost no charisma.
the dvd IS overpriced. but if you buy it - there is enough information taught for you to create a stunning ambitious card routine. |

I find the Ellusionist video to be a great teaching video. I am not a fan of videos that put every single possible move on there, without expert recommendations about which work in certain circumstances. There are a lot of great moves on Daryl's video, but they are just that: moves. Brad's video only covers sleights that he feels are strong, deceptive and powerful. I appreciate that.
Plus, if you are interested in performance and presentational tips, there's no comparison. Daryl's video does not attempt to give guidance in that regard, while it is a strong focus of Brad's video. You may or may not like his particular style, but I like how much time he gives to looking at presentational theory. |

I like both of them, but I do prefer one over the other. I was introduced to the Ambitious card by Daryl, but started to actually perform it after watching ellusionist's video.
I go back, and look at both periodically, because, in the end, the routine is pretty straightforward no matter how you look at it. However, the visual record of the moves, the timing and information that is on both of those, to me is the one reason why I still own both. They compliment each other. And a person who wants to learn as much as they can about something, gets as much information from as many different sources as they can. David. |

I was very turned off by the Elusionist marketing and would never buy anything from them.
