Three month old ring necks Herminie and Professor Migonicle.
So far, finger walking, hand to hand flying, and they return to their "T" stand and seem happy to stay there for long periods. Many thanks to Greg Frewin and his three DVD set,I highly recomend this DVD. We have had them about a month now,but have yet to do any magic with them as I am yet to make the dove bags ect. First things first. ps;I love it when they make the laughing sounds. Click here to view attached image.

Finally have 2 silkies that have hatched, they are doing well. Just not good for flybacks, Frewin has great tapes, He is a great guy as well, and very sharing. enjoy your new family, and sounds like you are doing great with the training.

Silkies can fly but not very far and not very well. Their feather configuration is a little different giving the name of silkie. A flay back dove has to be able to fly out and return and silkies just aren't bred for that.

Jon, These guys Are great for outdoor shows, or in general great for any show when you don't want to trim feathers back to keep from flying. Fully feathered, look beaytiful. Their feathers are Freyed edges along the quils, this causes them to get hardly any lift as their wings can't gather the air and make movement. I have been patiently waiting to get my silkie flock back up in numbers , as my originals are getting older. More stock for the survival of the species..

Here is a shot of my cage,it is on the front porch, doesn't face the road, and can be opened thru the sliding glasss doors for training the kids.
The cage is under cover but I still cover the cage on three sides at night or drop one of the plastic flaps if there is a draft,it also gets arvo sun. Click here to view attached image.
