Copper silver routines I like the David Roth routine - using a glass, a coin purse and six coins three copper and three silver. A very neat routine.

The basic premise of mine is that there are two rows of coins, copper on the left and silver on the right. Four go in one hand and four in the other. One of the silver coins is visibly moved to the opposite side, and in a sympathetic response, one of the copper coins magically moves across to take its place. In it's basic form, this would be repeated four times. You could use a thumb palm to accomplish this, although I don't, and never did. However, I have added some additional twists to vary the action, and the methods, including a false explanation, and an ending where the last coin coin appears among it's group while laying openly on the table. The premise is of course that coins may become invisible, and I use several ploys to support the notion beyond them simply trans-locating. I suppose though that the plot is so basic that there would be many incarnations of it. I even remember seeing one that Andy Dallas taught me that uses a C/S coin in the mix. That one is worth learning, too.

Thanks Michael. I don't think the Skinner routine is original to him, although I'm sure Mike added his own touches.
The contrasting coins is what is so compelling about the routine. |

Coins through table - another classic. Some can be done standing up and sitting down. Bev Bergeron had a great stand up way of doing this classic.

I also worked out a very cool copper silver routine using the okito coin box. Three silver coins and one copper coin. It was a strong routine.

If I may chime in about some of the coin tricks at the tables in a restaurant...
Some of those routines with 2 rows of coins and back and forth etc.????? Doesn't anybody take into account the amount of space is needed for those kinds of tricks?

I would love to discuss some of your work with the Okito box. I have come up with A LOT of ideas and routines with it as well. Perhaps we can share some thoughts!! Shaun R.

I've always HATED the Okia box. That is until I saw Shaun Robison's Penguin lecture and he fooled the heck out of me with it.

I will assume some will not have taken into account that when I was doing these on tables in restaurants, I was invited to the table to sit with the patrons and entertain them after dinner. The space occupied was no more than I would be taking if I was sitting and having dinner with them. The space needed also allowed me to do full ribbon spreads of cards for tricks like Micro-Macro, etc. I hate to be so blunt, but I know my venues and their limitations, even if others don't know theirs.
