Hey guys! I really want to try busking this upcoming September and try to wring some money from the rich alumni that flood in here every football season.
So I've spent the last few weeks drilling cups and balls, here's how it looks right now. Let me know what I need to work on! The patter is a little bit flat, but I think that's only because I'm talking to a camera, I think if I was performing it I'd be a bit more lively, but it's something I need to be conscious of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-PjKiWmG6A Best, Alex |

You have the chops. Routine is done well. I think the red balls on black are too hard to see. Loads, for laymen are fine, I like the bag instead of a pouch for you.
NOW... THE IMPORTANT PART... the talking. As you said, talking to camera is not a good way to show off your routine... YOU NEED TO REALLY WORK WORK WORK with spectators to get a RAPPORT with the audience. Watch Gazzo and others to see how they interact... it will be YOU not the trick that will be your success. GO FOR IT!

Thanks for the kind words Pete!
Only way to practice gaining rapport is to get out there and go for it, just gotta find the right opportunity Thanks again! Alex |

Excellent! Enjoyed your routine like the wand spins. It is different performing before a camera than a group of people. I have no doubt your intersection would be a lot different if people were standing there.
Thanks for sharing. Jim |

Looking good, just relax both your hands a bit more, they get tensed up and look stiff, wand hand looks arthritic almost at times.
I'm always watching the hands of magi after getting caught myself. it's a big tell somethings not right. the way you hold the wand is strange, but seems to work for you. the placement of the balls under the cups when you go into your final load sequence looks real suspicious when you push the ball instead of letting it fall. you seem to be trying to make it roll or something to that effect. like Mr Biro said the red on black is very rough on the vision. and yes work on your voice and intonation. as you stated it's flat, and you speak a little fast with run on sentences, not pausing and letting your work sink into the audience. otherwise your routine works and you cover your loads well. |

I liked the routine, and the loading is very well done, to add to the previous comments, I'd change the balls for Orange color, and maybe slightly larger, they look to small compared with the cups and it is difficult to see them, plus been orange will hide better in your hand than a red one (my experience). Also I personally don't like the pattern of "let me tell you how I done it" it is the Vernon patter and I'd like better something more magical of explanation, again this is just my opinion as an spectator, I don't want to know how you fool me, even if after that you do something different.
I agree with Pete that the side bag is good for you, but as it is position in the video, it is too big and too visible along your body, maybe putting it a little lower and to the side will help with focusing the view in you and the cups. Hope this help you Pablo |
