I love performing the cup and balls, and have made my own routine but am looking for something new to do with it.

Any of you have any good routines you've made you don't mind sharing? I need it for next time I can perform for my family.

Thanks

My own routines aren't quite polished enough to be shared properly, but if you need some ideas, here are 28 of them...

I just started doing a simple routine with the plastic cups (red, blue, yellow) that you get in the kids magic sets. but if you load a golf ball, and give it a press, it will stay up in the cup. so you can load it... lift the cup up to show it's empty, and place it down firmly do dislodge it.

I see that word used a lot too. I wonder if it's a spellcheck error, or if people really don't know the difference. Also, few realize "Ye" is a plural form of "You", not "The."

I think someone got "defiantly" confused with "definately," which is possibly the single most common misspelling of "definitely."

If you are planning to be a writer, there are two things that come to mind:

1) Words have meaning.

2) The difference between the right word and the almost right word is the difference between lightning and a lightning bug (according to Mark Twain).

I'm not trying to pick on anyone; however, it is extremely important to actually say what you mean. I respectfully suggest that people who misunderstand this (and the person who started this thread) read the following:

That's true. It comes from some confusion over a symbol which does not exist in our alphabet. There is a rune called "thorn," which is the Norse equivalent of the "th" sound. It looks somewhat like a Y. Some old British establishments used this in their signs, and some modern British establishments have copied the practice. But most sign painters don't know about thorn, so they use a Y instead.

So places like "Ye Olde College Inn" should be pronounced "The Old College Inn."

Writer- How about you create a different situation for your routine? Can you do it with coffee mugs? What could you do differently with a different set of cups?

Check out Tommy Wonder's 2 cup routine. The really audacious loads are inspirational. Can you come up with a load that is as gutsy as that? Can you work the misdirection to let you make the load?

Try some ideas for one-cup routines. Can you find a way to load your ball somewhere other than the cup? What about putting it in someone's pocket before you even start, don't even do a final load in the cup, but vanish the ball and announce that it is in your dad's pocket. If he hasn't found it already, you just elevated yourself to the miracle status of family magicians.

If that doesn't keep you going, you aren't trying hard enough.

You realize, of course, that Lewis Carroll was making fun of British politicians when he wrote that, don't you?
