London did one of my favorite olympics. Beautiful city and great people.
Rio is next. I am wondering what your opinion is. Should the police and military start hunting down and...uh...recycle the street youth now or wait until the closer to the event? They are going to do it regardless it is not a question, it is when. |

It should get interesting. Parts of Rio are bloody and the police will roll in and prune the population. They have a few soccer stadiums but some have no facilities. It is a beautiful area and until you head up the hills just full of thieves and thugs, the bad areas have murderes and drug gangs and run their own world. This dual event really gives them the opportunity to make thw whole city shine.
They will hunt down and kill teen gangs though... |

Well, they've already stolen the gold medal from the Chinese on the still rings.

A friend of mine just went down to Brazil. Infrastructure problems looked obvious to him re: the upcoming World Cup and Olympics. He saw no construction going on.
For the WC, they've got the stadiums, but there are lots of other issues. Efficient public transport (other than public buses, among them). His Brazilian associates said that one likely solution to traffic/congestion for the WC would be that the government would declare a month long national holiday. My friend thought they were kidding, but they weren't.
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".
