I am 14 and I have been trying to get more poular in my area.

That's a tough question. Recognition comes from repeated exposure. Paul Daniels once said, and I paraphrase, that appearing on the television will not make you famous. Appearing on the television often will. To be more popular in your area you just need to be seen more. Do you do poster, flyer, newspaper ads when you get a public gig or do you just let the buyer do all the promotion? When you are doing the gig do you actively contact the local media, print, radio, television and bloggers to let them know you are available to interview? Do you offer promotions, coupons, contests and such to the audiences while attending your show? Do you have a website dedicated to you that allows fans, future fans and prospective clients to follow you and feel connected? All these things will make you more recognizable to the public and if you do a good job, popularity will follow... -shawn |
