Cracker Barrel Restaurant has a great fake ceramic eggs behind the counter! - both white and brown. With a drill, they are easy to make into a silk/egg. They are very inexpensive, but very nice.

Hollow. Their walls are about 1/4 inch thick ceramic.

Thank you for the heads up.
This would be great for Lance Burton's Silk to Egg. What are some others that it would be good for?

This is the most realistic egg I've seen, and would work in an egg bag too. The draw backs are also its strengths - it is not as small as some egg bag eggs, and the texture is that of a real egg. For a close-up substitute, I don't see how this could be beat (ok, bad pun). I would be comfortable giving the egg out for inspection, it's that good. Who's going to try to break it? I used a Dermel Tool to make a hole where I wanted it and the size I wanted it.

That's great thanks for the post. What do you use to drill the hole and what size do you make it?
