Here is a clip from a show I did with Joe Harrison a few months ago. Thought I would share.

Thanks for looking, best thing about it, I know some areas I need to work. Doug, it is great, just a little piece of rope. Very similar to other routines, but people seem to enjoy it.

That was a riot! Here I thought it was going to be a good old-fashioned close-up routine...
I love it! Thanks! Jim |

Thanks Jim, glad it was something different than your expectations. I did some editing, and I think the music takes it to another level. Thanks to Youtube for the music!

This is a great comedy escape, different take on the presentation. Mostly, the original presentation is done while seated on a chair. Nice take on the rehearsal idea. You shouldn't have shown that, now everyone will be doing it that way. Very original idea.
Glenn Bishop (Chicagoe Magician) said his father Billy Bishop made a career out of this escape. Dick Stoner has been doing a version of this comedy escape routine for over 70 years. See his lecture videos for his method and routine. Abbott's and Owen's Magic both sell a one page of instructions for this comedy escape. Owen's Magic credits H. Newton (Whomever that is) as the originator of this comedy bit in their catalog. Abbott's suggest producing a drink at the end of the routine. |

I liked the longer "talkie" version better Scott. I believe YOU added more to it than the music.
Good job! John

Thanks,
John, the longer talkie version is good in person, but I wanted to get the essance quick, it was over 5 minutes long. Dale, works much better when it isn't 100% humidity in the desert! Bill, thanks for all the info, I have seen it done with a chair too, but I like the standing. I have played with altering the phases, one phase I will stand up, take out a handkerchif and wipe my face. Another time I pull out a pair of scissors, try to cut the rope, but it falls, and I am back in the knot. It is really fun.
