It looks like a backpalm production to me, but I'm no expert.

It does look like a back palm.... but what's throwing me off is the people behind him, with that many people sitting where they could see a back palm don't you think one of them would have called him out? but then again I don't have a better explanation

0f course on the other hand he's not sitting where anybody would be facing him, so I guess there's the chance he just did that to look cool for the camera
